Ricoh digicam with interchangeable lens/sensor modules

Japan’s Ricoh Co. Ltd. has today announced the Ricoh GXR digital camera, which harks back to Minolta’s DiMAGE EX1500 digital camera of eleven years ago, by offering optional modules that allow the lens and sensor to be interchanged together. The Ricoh GXR camera body itself doesn’t contain a lot beyond the LCD display, a flash strobe and hot shoe, microphone and speaker, miscellaneous connectivity, battery and flash slots, plus the various control buttons and dials.
